Blackhawk Manor is located in a wonderful, small college town with numerous recreational opportunities city wide.

The City of Whitewater plans many festivities during the year. During the summer, Taste of Whitewater is a favorite that attracts many to try the local cuisine of the community. The Fourth of July Celebration is the highlight of the summer. There's a parade, fair, and fireworks show. In February, Freezefest is held in coordination with the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. The chili cook-off is one highlight of the weekend.

If you want to get involved in a service organization, there are many to choose from in Whitewater. The city is home to the St. Johns Masons, Lions Club, Kiwanis, Optimists Club, Rotary Club, and Knights of Columbus.

The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater has a variety of plays and musical performances at Young Auditorium. In the past events have included the Glen Miller Orchestra, the musical Annie, and the National Acrobats of China. The university music, dance, and theatre students also perform a variety of shows throughout the year.

The university also hosts many athletic events. The 3-Time NCAA Division III National Champion Warhawk football team always draws a crowd.
